Buckleys (UVRAL) Ltd. was formed in 1926 by the Buckley brothers of Putney, London. Back then the product range was Ultra Violet Ray Arc Lamps (hence the name UVRAL) which were used in early photographic production. The company was taken over in 1942 by the Hoveman family and moved from its base in Riverside, Putney to Hythe (in the south east of England) in 1973. The picture on the right shows Derek and John Hoveman outside the factory in about 1980 (Derek is on the left).

Today Buckleys is run by John's son, Paul (Managing Director) and Barry Green (Technical Director).

Since 1962 Buckleys have specialised in the manufacture of test and inspection equipment. A continuous process of research and development over the years has ensured that a comprehensive range of high / low voltage equipment is available today.

Current products include DC Holiday Detectors and Cable Testers, AC Spark Testers, Wet Sponge Testers and a range of Sub-sea inspection equipment.

Buckleys have also become involved in a number of other projects, diversifying into fields such as ozone production, anti corrosion systems, medical equipment and a wide range of embedded microprocessors based systems.

Buckleys are ISO 9001 accredited, provide a one year back to base warranty on all products and have CE Approval on products where appropriate.
